Where your money goes
How every euro is split and what running Bitsound costs.
Of the price without VAT. VAT goes to the tax office of your country.
Bitsound always takes 10 %, never more. Here you can see where the money goes.
Example: a track for €1.00 in Austria
Listening is free, money comes from purchases
Signed in, you hear every song in full as often as you like, in streaming quality (AAC). Nobody pays for that, and there are no ads. Bitsound and the artists only earn when you buy: then the song is yours forever, lossless as FLAC or ALAC to download. Guests hear 30 seconds.
Service fee
When you top up credits we add a service fee of €0.39. It covers the costs of payment processing, so the artists get their full 90 %. It is the same for every payment method. When you buy music with credits, every track costs exactly its price, no fee.
Artist storage plans
Artists get 2 GB for free, enough for an album in hi-res, with no limits on releases or tracks. Bigger storage plans are paid per year (100 GB: €25.00, 500 GB: €90.00, 1 TB: €150.00); they cover the cost of storage and servers.
